Owner Video — The Safeguarding Lead

Read these lines aloud, one at a time, pausing naturally. Each amber PAUSE is a natural stopping point. Don't memorise — just read.

📖 Read-along version

Hi, I'm Clive from SafeguardingUK.

In this video I'll show you the Safeguarding Lead — who they are, and how you set one.

Pause

Every manager gets safeguarding alerts by email and text.

But for a critical concern, one person's phone actually rings — and that's your Safeguarding Lead.

There's only ever one Lead at a time.

Pause

To set them, go to your dashboard and find the Safeguarding Lead card.

Choose one of your managers from the list, and click Make Safeguarding Lead.

Done — their name now shows a green Safeguarding Lead badge, and their phone is the one that rings for a critical alert.

You can change the Lead at any time — for example, appoint a stand-in when someone's on leave. Just pick another manager and make them the Lead.

One important warning: if you remove the Lead and don't appoint a new one, a critical alert won't ring anyone's phone. So always keep a Lead in place.

Pause

That's the Safeguarding Lead.

Thank you for watching.
